According to Bild, Borussia Dortmund want to sign PSV Eindhoven attacker Donyell Malen if Jadon Sancho leaves next summer.

It’s claimed that Dortmund have started picking out potential replacements for Sancho, seemingly preparing for his exit in 2021.

Malen, 21, can play up front or on either flank, and having smashed 12 goals I 18 games this season, he could earn a huge move to Germany.

Boost for Liverpool…

This could be great news for Liverpool. The Independent reported in October that Liverpool are a likelier destination than Manchester United for Sancho.

The Reds are thought to be in a better position to splash huge cash in 2021 than they were this past summer, and Sancho is thought to be a prime target.

With Dortmund seemingly preparing themselves for Sancho’s exit with a move for Malen, the Reds may just gain some hope that a deal for the England winger really is possible next year.

But embarrassment for Arsenal

Whilst Liverpool may have some hope off the back of these rumours, Arsenal will be feeling a little red-faced.

They sold Malen to PSV for just £500,000 in 2017, and they have watched the Dutchman become a star upon his return to Netherlands.

If Malen does end up making a big-money move to Dortmund, Arsenal’s decision to lose him on the cheap would look even worse – especially with their goalscoring woes right now.
