Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that the club have sent images to the Premier League surrounding Hector Bellerin’s foul throws.

The Arsenal right back was penalised for another foul throw in Sunday afternoon’s 2-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

That’s now five foul throw-ins from Bellerin this season, accounting for almost a third of the 16 foul throw-ins in the Premier League this term.

This is becoming a problem for Arsenal, and having one player so guilty of these turnovers of possession isn’t ideal.

Liverpool have even reaped the rewards of having a throw-in coach in recent times, so seeing these issues at Arsenal is quite alarming.

Ahead of tonight’s Europa League game with Dundalk, Arteta has been asked about Bellerin’s issues with throw-ins – and Arsenal aren’t taking it lightly.

Arteta has admitted that he thinks the decision against Tottenham was ‘really, really harsh’, and Arsenal now want to improve the problems.

Arteta even claims that Arsenal have even sent images to the Premier League of other clubs committing foul throw-ins that haven’t been penalised, with Arsenal complaining about receiving unfair treatment.

“I think it was really, really harsh,” said Arteta. “We sent the images to the Premier League because there have been many, many incidents, much worse than that but they were never [given as foul throws]. But we will keep working and making sure that we do the action properly of course,” he added.
