Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are excited by one new reported transfer target.

According to The Daily Mail, Spurs are set to scout Leon Bailey for Bayer Leverkusen tonight.

The 23-year-old was previously linked with a move to Tottenham last summer, but nothing materialised.

The last player who the North Londoners signed from Leverkusen was, of course, Son Heung-min and he has gone on to become a roaring success under Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho has an abundance of wide players at his disposal, though, and some Lilywhites fans believe that somebody – like the injured Erik Lamela – could head off to make space for the Jamaica international, if indeed the interest is genuine.

Here’s how they’re reacting to the speculation on Twitter:

Bailey is also on record as saying that he dreams of playing in the Premier League, which is another piece of good news is Tottenham are really interested.

And if he plays well in Germany tonight, in front of the Spurs scouts, then it’ll be very interesting to see what happens in January.
