Well, there were suspicions, but it looks like Arsenal won’t have Reiss Nelson available this evening.

The Gunners round off their Europa League campaign with a visit to Dundalk in the Republic of Ireland.

But Nelson, who starred for Arsenal against Rapid Vienna last week, has been left behind in London it seems.

The club’s academy prospect, who turned 21 today, wasn’t photographed in Mikel Arteta’s training session on Wednesday, casting his participation in doubt.

Arteta never mentioned him as an injury doubt during his press conference last night.

But according to Football London, the Arsenal winger picked up a head injury in training during the week and has been left behind as a precaution.

Nelson is no stranger to injuries, having only recovered from a long-term one in October.

And although this isn’t a muscular issue, it’s still another absence – and on his birthday, no less.
