According to the Sunderland Echo, Sean Longstaff is in talks with Newcastle over a new contract, following links with a move to Tottenham.
The Magpies academy graduate – whose last contract extension netted him £25,000-a-week – recently hired Pini Zahavi as his new agent, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail state that sources say Zahavi – who also represents Neymar and Robert Lewandowski – told those close to Longstaff that he could sort a move to Tottenham for him.
Now, however, it looks like talks are progressing over a new deal for the 23-year-old at St James’ Park.
Longstaff’s career has stalled slightly since he burst onto the scene with the Magpies under Rafa Benitez, which led to Manchester United being open to submitting a £20 million offer as The Times revealed.

It’s not the first time that Manchester United and Tottenham have been involved in pursuing a player like the Newcastle No.36.
Both sides have previously housed Michael Carrick, a player who The Guardian likened Longstaff to in an article back in February 2019.

The Newcastle-born midfielder could emulate the ex-England international by moving to north London.
However, the Sunderland Echo’s report states that the Magpies hope Longstaff renews his terms, so this one’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.
