Freddie Ljungberg has told Monday Night Football, which was broadcast on Sky Sports, that Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe scores all the time in training.
Pepe has come in for some criticism during his time at Arsenal, with his performances often inconsistent.
The Ivorian has slipped down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta, following the arrival of Willian in the summer.
But Ljungberg insists that Arsenal’s record signing actually has a huge amount of quality.
“Whatever people say about Nico, there he’s fantastic,” Ljungberg said. “His left foot from that angle is unreal. He scores so many goals in training.”
Ljungberg said the comments over a clip of Pepe’s goal against West Ham last season.

That strike was supposed to be the turning point for Pepe at Arsenal, but he hasn’t really kicked on since then.
Pepe has started just twice in the Premier League this season, and is currently out with suspension, after an off the ball incident against Leeds United.
If Pepe could prove his scoring credentials on the pitch for Arsenal in the near future that would be a major boost, as Arteta’s side have badly struggled for goals.
