Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke highly of goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher on Amazon Prime (9:39pm, December 6, 2020) following his performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Kelleher made his second successive start for Liverpool, as the 22-year-old took his position between the posts at Anfield on Sunday evening.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international goalkeeper started against Ajax in the Champions League last week and kept a clean sheet, as the Reds won 1-0.

On Sunday evening, the defending Premier League champions beat Wolves 4-0 at home.

After the match, Klopp raved about Kelleher and outlined the attributes that makes him so special.

Klopp said about Kelleher on Amazon Prime (9:39pm, December 6, 2020): “Yes, goalkeepers are all about saves, of course, and it was brilliant, and apart from that, it’s about contributions, what can he bring, involved in the game, and that makes him a really special talent because he is really calm on the ball, his personality is very calm, and technically he is outstanding with his feet.”

Bright future ahead

Kelleher has made only a handful of appearances for the Liverpool first team, and he has been very impressive.

Of course, Alisson is the first-choice goalkeeper at the Reds and that is not going to change anytime soon, but Kelleher does appear to have a bright future ahead of him.

Training with Alisson on a regular basis and perhaps getting games in cup competitions for Merseyside club Liverpool could see the youngster develop a lot in the coming months.
