The Manchester United legend made the comments following Liverpool’s 4-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
The former England international midfielder was impressed by the performance produced by the 30-year-old Netherlands international midfielder.
Scholes said on Amazon Prime (9:07pm, December 6, 2020): “I think he is a player who doesn’t get probably the credit he deserves, but he has got everything in midfield. He keeps the play ticking over. I can’t remember a mistake he made tonight.”
How did Georginio Wijnaldum play against Wolverhampton Wanderers?
Wijnaldum is a regular in the Liverpool midfield and is one of the best players in manager Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
The former Newcastle United star had another superb game for the Reds and played his part in the 4-0 win against Wolves.
The Dutchman worked hard in the middle of the park, scored a goal, and imposed himself on the match.
According to WhoScored, Wijnaldum took one shot which ended in goal, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 97.6%, won one header, took 49 touches, and made one interception and one clearance.
The win against Wolves means that Liverpool are now second in the Premier League table with 24 points from 11 matches, level on points with leaders Tottenham Hotspur.
