Tim Sherwood was full of praise for Wolves duo Daniel Podence and Adama Traore and their ability on one v one situations, as he told Soccer Saturday (05/12/20 at 2:05 pm).
The former Aston Villa manager compared Podence to Eden Hazard and stated that he just ‘eliminates people’ when he is on the ball.
As for Traore, he began his career in B6 as a teenager and that road led him to Molineux, where he has thrived in recent seasons.
Sherwood was the manager who purchased Traore from Barcelona five years ago and this is what he had to say about the Spain international and his teammate.
“Podence, they find from Olympiacos,” said Sherwood. “What a player he is. The technical ability. He looks like Hazard. The pace of this boy, he just eliminates people. He doesn’t have a trick. He just eliminates them.
“One v one. I know all about this boy [Traore]. He will do anyone in a one v one situation. It’s straight power. He’s not sure what he’s doing.
“When he gets the ball he’s not sure what he’s doing, so nobody else has a clue. I have worked with him for a while.”
Ever since Nuno Espirito Santo stepped foot into Wolves, he has transformed a club that was sitting in the third-tier of English just years before he joined.
The new takeover, the introduction of Nuno, the decision to target the Portuguese market has paid off and last season it resulted in them securing Europa League football.
Wolves will want to get back into Europe this season and given that there is no regular football in midweek for the Midlands outfit, they are one of the favourites to finish in the top seven.
