Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Çebi has spoken of his desire to sign Cenk Tosun from Everton, describing the striker as ‘special’.
Çebi told TRT Spor (via NTV Spor): ‘Tosun would be more suitable for us, I wish it could be. He is a special kid for me. I would love Cenk. If it happens, why not, we would love it.’
In terms of keeping your cards close to your chest, Çebi most certainly hasn’t done that – he couldn’t have made his intentions any clearer.
However, in our view, it seems unlikely that Carlo Ancelotti would sanction this deal given the current circumstances.
The Italian currently only has Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a recognised, senior centre-forward in his squad alongside the Turkey international.

This is because Ancelotti loaned out his other options in Moise Kean and Theo Walcott to Paris Saint-Germain and Southampton respectively.
Having said that, if those two were still at Goodison Park, we feel that Tosun would be allowed to depart.
The £27 million man has only played 31 minutes of Premier League football this season, and was even loaned out by Ancelotti to Crystal Palace back in January.

It seems clear that the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss doesn’t fancy the 29-year-old, which would presumably make a transfer to Besiktas simple.
However, the Toffees’ lack of depth at centre-forward will surely complicate any potential arrangement.
