Tottenham Hotspur starlet Oliver Skipp is impressing at Norwich City with Canaries boss Daniel Farke hailing his ability to produce faultless performances on a weekly basis, speaking to the club’s official website.
Jose Mourinho may believe the 20-year-old is a “phenomenal” talent but Skipp still has to prove himself out on loan before he can stamp his authority on the Premier League leaders.
With Moussa Sissoko, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele all ahead of him in Mourinho’s pecking order, the England U21 international packed his bags and headed to Anglia in search of regular first-team football.
That decision looks a masterstroke.
Skipp has started every one of Norwich’s 14 Championship games so far with his intelligent, composed distribution from a deep-lying role making him integral to Farke’s possession-based game plan.
“We take it for granted Oliver Skipp plays nearly every game with so little mistakes,” Farke explains.

Skipp, meanwhile, has added a more attacking string to his bow of late with Alex Tettey’s return to the XI allowing the Tottenham loanee the freedom to push forwards in more of a box-to-box role.
“He had to adapt in the last two games because he’s now playing with Alex Tettey, who plays a deeper role. He has to drive the game forward now,” Farke adds.
“It is no coincidence Jose Mourinho says he has potential to be Tottenham’s skipper one day.”
Across the whole of the Championship, there are only five players who can better Skipp’s 88 per cent pass completion rate.
