Speaking on the Qué Golazo Podcast, Fabrizio Romano offered an update on the future of Dominik Szoboszlai, who is said to be a target for Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool.

The transfer guru said: ‘(Arsenal) have an eye on the situation on Szoboszlai. I am sure that this player is moving in January so we will talk about him. I think in two weeks we’ll understand where he is going. He has a release clause of €25 million.’

90min revealed that the Premier League trio are chasing the Budapest-born playmaker, while they also state that Manchester United, Wolves, Everton and Leicester are interested.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint Germain, Lyon, Benfica, Porto and RB Leipzig are also keen, according to 90min.

It is interesting to hear a journalist as reliable as Romano confidently state that he’s ‘sure’ the Hungary international will move clubs in January.

It is also just as intriguing to hear that Szoboszlai has a release clause of €25 million (£22 million), which is a snip for Premier League clubs of Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal’s stature.

The English trio would be smart to activate that clause, in our view.

As far as 20-year-olds go in the footballing world, few are looking more prodigious than the RB Salzburg maestro.

So far this season in 16 appearances, Szoboszlai has scored eight goals and assisted a further nine.

Whoever lands him will be getting a fantastic prospect – if Romano is to be believed, we won’t have to wait too long to find out where he’s heading.
