Some Liverpool fans on Twitter have been praising Curtis Jones after the Reds’ loss to Atalanta on Wednesday evening.

The Merseyside club were outplayed by the Serie A outfit on Wednesday, and while supporters weren’t raving about any of their players, one man who quietly impressed a number of supporters was Curtis Jones.

No Liverpool player had the best game of their career against Atalanta, and many fans made that clear on social media, but they were quite pleased by what they saw from Jones.

The 19-year-old certainly showed a lot of promise, and at that age, that’s really all you can ask for.

Jurgen Klopp even stated that the midfielder was playing as if he was a 26 or 27 year old, and that is high praise for a player who isn’t even out of his teens yet.

Jones being a talent isn’t news to anyone who has consistently watched Liverpool over the last 12 months, but the fact he’s gone from performing in the cups against lower league outfits to doing it in the Champions League against Europe’s elite shows how well he is developing.

On a night where Liverpool fans didn’t have much to shout about, Jones was certainly a bright spark.
