Tottenham target Marcel Sabitzer hailed on Twitter after RB Leipzig display

Tottenham Hotspur are in European action against Ludogorets on Thursday night, but they may have had one eye on Champions League action last night.

RB Leipzig travelled to France to take on Paris Saint-Germain last night, and ended up losing 1-0 to a Neymar penalty.

Julian Nageslmann’s side were far from embarrassed in the French capital, but now face dropping into the Europa League.

Marcel Sabitzer gave away the penalty, clumsily bundling into Angel Di Maria inside the box, with Neymar making no mistake.

That’s who Tottenham may well be have had an eye on last night, as they’re being strongly linked with a move to sign the Austrian in 2021.

Sport Bild reported earlier this month that Tottenham are pursuing a deal for Sabitzer, which could cost around €30million (£27million).

Sabitzer is a versatile performer, impressing for Leipzig in a number of different midfield roles, and fans took to Twitter to hail him despite giving away the penalty.

Some called him a ‘baller’, praising him as ‘phenomenal’ and class’, whilst feeling that was absolutely running the show against PSG – and a couple of Spurs fans want him signed.
