Diego Maradona: Wife
Diego Maradona is often regarded as the best footballer of all time. While his achievements on the pitch are to be remembered forever, his love life doesn’t look to have been quite as successful.
Maradona married Claudia Villafañe on November 7th, 1989, after 13 years of dating and engagement.
However, a year after their marriage, another woman, Cristina Sinagra, claimed that he was the father of her child.
Claudia began proceedings in 1998, but Maradona and Claudia Villafañe weren’t divorced until 2004.
Claudia had a career as an actress and, today, can be seen as a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef in Argentina.
Diego and Claudia had two daughters together, Dalma and Giannina Maradona, in 1987 and 1989.
During divorce proceedings, the footballer admitted that he was the father of Diego Sinagra. His son was born on September 20th 1986 and is now an Italian footballer.
He also has a daughter, Jana Maradona, born in 1996, from a relationship in Argentina.
According to the Jakarta Post, Diego also has three more children in Cuba. The report states that the former World Cup winner has eight children officially.
Did Maradona marry again?
Following his divorce from first wife, Claudia Villafañe, the footballing legend didn’t marry again.
He was, however, engaged to former women’s football player Rocio Oliva for six years after meeting in 2012. Diego proposed in 2014, but they split in 2018. As reported by The Sun, Rocio kicked Diego out of the house after they endured “blazing rows”.
He and his ex-girlfriend, Veronica Ojeda, also had a child, Diego Fernando Maradona Ojeda, in 2013.
However, according to The Mirror, Diego “dumped former PE teacher Ojeda when she was four and a half months pregnant with their first child” for Rocio Oliva.
