According to The Liverpool ECHO, Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino missed training on Tuesday – but is still expected to start against Atalanta tonight.

The Reds are back in Champions League action tonight, hosting the Italian side at Anfield as they chase yet another win.

Liverpool thrashed Atalanta 5-0 in Italy earlier this month, and will now be looking to make it four wins from four in the group stage.

They are missing a host of players, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, and some may have been fearing that Firmino would miss out.

The Brazilian scored in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Leicester City, but missed training on Tuesday ahead of the clash with Atalanta.

However, the absence was allegedly nothing to do with an injury, and Firmino will be available to start in a major boost for Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp may be tempted to rotate some of his side, but he has so much faith in Firmino as a key member of his side that he will surely start.

With Mohamed Salah now back too, Liverpool will have a dangerous attack at Klopp’s disposal for tonight’s game, with fears over Firmino now eased.
