Aston Villa’s John McGinn has taken to Twitter to send a short message to AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimović, after the Swedish striker tweeted about FIFA 21.
The former Barcelona attacker posted a tweet asking who gave EA Sports permission to use his image in their FIFA games.
In response to his tweet, McGinn sent a hilarious reply which you can see below.
If they give me my 99 card big man they can do what they like 😂 https://t.co/vrAaD6MMMb— John McGinn (@jmcginn7) November 24, 2020
For context, a ’99 card’ is what EA Sports often give professionals when handing them a ‘player edition’ card on the popular Ultimate Team game mode.
As Goal show, the likes of Eden Hazard and Virgil van Dijk are just two of many footballers to be handed one by EA Sports.
It’s not everyday that an Aston Villa player gets in contact with a legend such as Ibrahimović, although McGinn didn’t resist questioning where his own player-edition card was.
In truth, EA Sports owe McGinn more than just a player-edition card – just look at the face they use, or have used, for the Scotland international in the past!
To be fair you should sue FIFA for not using your likeness pic.twitter.com/D8z9aNiwF9— Opac (@OP4C) November 24, 2020
The former Hibernian midfielder – who earns £25,000-a-week – definitely deserves a bit more recognition from EA. He’s only rated 76 on FIFA’s Ultimate Team game mode.
Given the fact he’s got one goal and four assists after eight Premier League appearances this season, the 26-year-old definitely deserves a higher rating – especially after such a consistent campaign last term.
