The first season of Transformers: War For Cybertron, titled Siege, premiered on Netflix in July, but what date will chapter 2 release?

Transformers is one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world and the new series on Netflix did not disappoint fans.

From a solid storyline to great visuals, War For Cybertron was a big win for Netflix’s original animated content.

The first instalment of Transformers: War for Cybertron, titled Siege, premiered on Netflix in the summer, but fans are wondering what date season 2 will release?

Will there be a season 2 of War For Cybertron?

Fans of Transformers: War for Cybertron ‘Siege’ will be glad to hear that there will be at least two more seasons, titled ‘Earthrise’ and ‘Kingdom’.

Whilst this may have been fairly obvious as the first part was titled ‘Chapter 1, it’s always good to get an official confirmation.

It seems that Netflix had faith in Rooster Teeth, Allspark Animation and Polygon Pictures when they first commissioned the series: not even waiting to see the viewing figures or reviews for Siege before ordering the full trilogy.

Thankfully, the series lived up to the hype and expectation from fans, scoring a 7.5/10 on IDMB and an 84% on Rotten Tomatoes, with viewers praising the ‘old-school meets new-school vibe’.

Transformers: War for Cybertron season 2 release date…

  • Transformers: War for Cybertron ‘Earthrise’ is scheduled to release on Netflix on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020.

Netflix announced yesterday, November 23rd, that Earthrise will debut on the streaming platform in the final days of 2020.

According to the Tformers.com website, War for Cybertron chapter 2 will see: “The Transformers leave Cybertron in search for the Allspark, leading the Autobots and Decepticons to land over Earth.”

The official announcement was made back in February 2019, which indicates a roughly 18-month production cycle. However, it appears as though production for the second season has been streamlined for a quicker turnaround – although it is unclear how many episodes season 2 will consist of.

When does War for Cybertron season 3 release?

At the time of writing, there is no official release date for Transformers: War for Cybertron ‘Kingdom’, but we expect chapter 3 to premiere in summer 2021.

The third and final arc will see: “The Autobots join forces with their descendants, the Maximals, against the Decepticons and their descendants, the Predacons.”

Similar to our expected release date for chapter 2, we hope that the production cycle for ‘Kingdom’ will be quicker than the first instalments.

However, with this being the final chapter of the War for Cybertron storyline, ‘Kingdom’ could take a longer time to produce than fans want.

The reason for this is because we are expecting more large-scale battles compared to previous instalments and more action on-screen means more time is needed for animating, especially with the 3D animation style of this particular show.

As always, we will bring you updates on the future of Transformers: War for Cybertron as soon as information is officially announced.
