The Rangers linked midfielder Jack Wilshere is keeping himself fit at the same Dubai facility that Steven Gerrard’s side trained at in January.
Wilshere, who played alongside the Rangers manager for England, remains without a club after leaving West Ham at the start of October.
And some Gers fans think he would make an exciting addition to the squad at Ibrox.
Posting on Instagram earlier on Tuesday, Wilshere wrote: ‘Working hard at the amazing @nas_sc (Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex) with the same hunger as always’.
Rangers visited the NAS Sports Complex for the very first time during Scottish football’s 2020 winter break.
Their Glasgow rivals, Celtic, were also present at the facility that month, for the second year running.
There is no suggestion that Wilshere’s trip has anything to do with Rangers, though it was reported by the Portuguese website Record last week that the 28-year-old was ‘determined’ to head to Ibrox despite interest from Valencia.
Gerrard only recently added to his central midfield options – which already comprised Joe Aribo, Scott Arfield, Steven Davis, Glen Kamara and Jack – with the signing of Bongani Zungu on loan from Amiens.
Rangers have an option to turn Zungu’s deal permanent next summer, when the contract of Davis is also due to expire.
