Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Folarin Balogun posted a tweet on Twitter, and a handful of them think he’s now leaving the Emirates Stadium.
The 19-year-old’s contract with the Gunners expires in June, although The Athletic reveal that talks over a fresh deal have resumed.
Also reported by The Athletic, Balogun was the subject of interest from Sheffield United and Chris Wilder over the summer, while Brentford also saw a £5 million offer rejected in January.
The Athletic state that Mikel Arteta is determined to keep the teenager in north London.
He has three goals in nine Premier League 2 appearances so far this season.
Balogun made his Arsenal debut in the 3-0 Europa League win over Dundalk earlier this season, and while his departure appeared inevitable, it now seems possible that he’ll stay.
However, try telling that to the Arsenal fans below.
After the forward posted a photo of his debut for the Gunners, a number of supporters have jumped to the conclusion that he’s leaving – for some reason.
Of course, his reflective tweet could be perceived as him looking back on his memories at Arsenal, although that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s off.
Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying…
He’s off then😞I hate our club sometimes, always letting our best players leave us☹️Baloguns a baller🤩— MIKEL ARTETA FC (@R335_3NR1GHT) November 23, 2020
I know Ornestin said they reopened talks but This is so cryptic and can also mean he is sadly leaving..— Bruce Hervé (@hernino25) November 23, 2020
Doesn't mean he will accept our offer. Especially with that kind of words he said on this tweet. So, he's probably leaving then.— MFF (@muhammad_fakhmi) November 23, 2020
