Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter as Theo Walcott helped Southampton to a 1-1 draw at Wolves in the Premier League on Monday night.

In 2006, a fresh-faced teenager left his boyhood club in the Championship to join an Arsenal team, who had just competed in the Champions League final.

Fast forward to today and the 31-year-old admitted that he ‘feels like a kid again’ [BBC Sport] after scoring his first goal for the Saints following his return to the club this summer.

Walcott is on-loan at St Mary’s from Everton, who opted to temporarily part ways with him because he hasn’t really got going since Arsene Wenger allowed him to leave North London for Merseyside two years ago.

Arsenal fans were impressed with what they were seeing from their one-time wonderkid, who was a marmite-like figure during his time at the club.

That pressured spotlight is now off him and it’s shining bright on a certain Nicolas Pepe, who finds himself being scrutinised in a negative manner because of his actions over the weekend and his recent form.

Some Arsenal supporters stated that the English speedster is better than the left-footed Ivorian trickster – the Southampton man has been involved in three-goal contributions in five league matches, whilst Pepe has scored one goal in eight league encounters.

Well, when you have started life at the Emirates like Pepe has then it isn’t a surprise that Arsenal fans are reminiscing about the good old days with Walcott.
