According to The Sun, Leeds United are interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson in the January transfer window.

It’s claimed that Henderson wants to go out on loan in January, as he wants to make sure he keeps his place in England’s squad for the European Championships.

Henderson hasn’t made a single league appearance for United this season despite starring at Sheffield United last season, and he now wants to go out on loan again.

Bournemouth are keen if United will let him go to the Championship, whilst Leeds and Brighton are keen on keeping him in the Premier League.

Henderson is thought to favour Premier League playing time, which is rather unsurprising given that an England spot is his ultimate goal.

Leeds already have a young goalkeeper between the sticks in Illan Meslier, and he has shown plenty of promise in his first Premier League season.

Landing Henderson as a short-term option could make some sense if Leeds fear relegation, but they won’t want to stunt the development of Meslier, who looks to have real talent.

Henderson is no stranger to Yorkshire having starred with Sheffield United, and Leeds may now hope for a favour from rivals United s they consider a January move.
