Martin Keown has given his take on Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale in The Daily Mail.
The Arsenal legend believes that Bale, who returned to Tottenham on loan from Spanish and European giants Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, is starting to come into his own now.
The talkSPORT pundit thinks that the 31-year-old Wales international winger is now ready to explode for Spurs, having done well in midweek for his national side.
Keown wrote in The Daily Mail: “Gareth Bale is moving through the gears, having played his first full 90 minutes since early September for Wales during the break.
“Maybe he is now poised to explode back on to the Premier League scene. Mourinho’s management of Bale has been impressive.”
Starting against Manchester City
Bale was injured when he joined Tottenham in the summer of 2020, but he is now fully fit and is playing well.
It will be interesting to see if Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho decides to include the Welshman in the starting lineup against Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League today.
The 31-year-old is a big-game player, having scored key goals in Copa del Rey and Champions League finals for Madrid, and he would relish the chance to turn on the style against Pep Guardiola’s City.
A win against City today would enhance Tottenham’s chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table and perhaps even give them more confidence to challenge for the title.
