Leeds United fans on Twitter are buzzing after hearing the news that Pascal Struijk has signed a new contract at the club.
The Dutch defender has agreed terms that will keep him at Elland Road until the summer of 2024, showing great faith in the young defender’s ability.
It’d be hard to argue that Struijk hasn’t earned this contract.
The centre-back has really stepped up this season after the departure of Ben White and the injury to Gaetano Berardi, and he’s more than earnt the right to stay at the club.
Despite rarely featuring in the Championship last term, the youngster has become something of a mainstay in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad this term, starting four matches this season.

This comes just one day on from Charlie Cresswell signing a new contract, who is another young player Leeds fans have been excited about, so you can imagine how pleased they were to hear that Struijk has pledged his future to the club.
Fans were quick to praise the player, while others were really happy with the club for getting him tied down.
Leeds have certainly made the right call here, and we can only hope that Struijk can continue to build on his start to the season.
Great stuff, really good footballer who can only get better.
