Charli D’Amelio gets ‘cancelled’ following chef video

A whole load of drama erupted on Twitter on Wednesday (November 18th) as fans began to ‘cancel’ Charli and Dixie D’Amelio.

It all started when the TikTok sisters posted a video on Monday (November 16th) to their new D’Amelio Family YouTube channel. It was titled “our first dinner guest” and featured the D’Amelio family sitting and having dinner with mystery special guest and fellow YouTuber James Charles.

In the video, the family and James Charles have been cooked a gourmet meal by a private chef, consisting of a classic Spanish paella. Charli and Dixie have been getting a lot of backlash as fans claim they seemed ‘ungrateful’ for the food they had been cooked and were ‘rude’ to the chef.

First, Dixie tried what she referred to as a ‘snail’, and threw up at the table and again outside. Then, Charli said: “Do we have any dino nuggets?”

As well as the drama surrounding the food, Charli is also being ‘cancelled’ for ‘complaining’ about her TikTok followers. She said: “I wish I had more time. Imagine if I hit 100 million a year after hitting 1 million.”

James Charles then sarcastically replied: “was the 95 million not enough for you.”

Dixie then took to TikTok to address the video, claiming that the stunt was set up on purpose by the chef (who the family are supposedly good friends with) to “get a reaction” out of her. However, it was too late, and the TikTok stars were already being ‘cancelled’ by internet users.

Charli D’Amelio loses up to 1 million TikTok followers

After Charli made the comment about her followers in the dinner party video, lots of people began unfollowing her on TikTok.

On November 18th, Charli made a video thanking her followers for reaching 99 million. At the time of writing this on the morning of November 20th, Charli currently has 98.4 million.

That means Charli has between 500,000 and 1 million followers over the past day.

On the evening of November 19th, Charli went live on Instagram and discussed some of the “hate messages” she’s been getting after she was ‘cancelled’.

In the livestream, Charli sobbed in front of her followers and said:

“Seeing how people reacted to this… I don’t even know if I want to do this anymore like this is messed up stuff that people are saying. People are telling me to hang myself and blatantly disrespecting the fact that I’m still a human being is not okay at all.”
