According to Voetbalkrankt, Manchester City are planning to start talks with Lukas Nmecha over a new contract.
It’s claimed that City are convinced that Nmecha has the ability and potential to become a first-team player at the Etihad Stadium.
Add in that City have been impressed with his performances on loan at Anderlecht, and they’re now planning talks to extend his deal.
Nmecha’s contract expires at the end of the season, and City may well be fearing losing the 21-year-old to a pre-contract agreement.
The Daily Mail reported in August that Celtic were considering a deal to sign Nmecha on loan, but he was eventually loaned to Anderlecht instead.

Since heading to Belgium, Nmecha has impressed with four goals in nine games, and City now seem desperate to keep him.
If Celtic were still keen and plotting a pre-contract deal, then this update about the striker’s future may well be something of a blow.
