Speaking to French radio station RTL (via Sky Sports) France boss Didier Deschamps has advised West Ham linked Olivier Giroud to leave Chelsea in January.
The France boss has said that Giroud needs to find another situation before March, meaning that he has to move in January, as that’s the only time the transfer window is open.
Fortunately, the target man isn’t short of potential suitors, with West Ham reportedly sniffing around in pursuit of his signature.

“Olivier Giroud knows it – the situation he’s in today cannot drag on forever. Before March he will have to find another situation than this one,”
“I never give advice, I give an opinion. At the end of the day, it’s the player’s decision. He has had situations that have sometimes been complicated to deal with.
“Today, it is not good for him. Will it stay the same or will it improve? It’s up to him. He knows what I think, even if I don’t forget everything he has done and everything he would still be able to do.”
It seems as though Giroud has to move to keep his international career alive.
The striker would be foolish to stay at Chelsea, the Frenchman isn’t getting much of a chance these days with Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner ahead of him in the pecking order.
With the striker closing in on Thierry Henry’s record as France’s all-time top scorer, he will certainly want to prolong his international career for as long as possible.
Deschamps’ comments may give Giroud a little nudge towards the exit door at Stamford Bridge, and that may be great news for West Ham.
