Call Of Duty Black Ops Cold War is now available and its launch hasn’t been entirely smooth with some PS5 users accidentally downloading and playing the PS4 version instead. While such hiccups coupled with plenty of bugs have annoyed players, the Warzone community is full of people asking: what is a Radiation Counter device? Here you’ll discover what the Radiation Counter device is, and how to get the Detection contract and RC-XD killstreak in Warzone.
Black Ops Cold War is now available on current and next-gen consoles, and so too is Warzone running at 120FPS on Xbox Series X. This has annoyed PS5 users thanks to the gameplay advantage provided by the superior frames per second, but sympathy is hard to come by when Activision has given Sony players some egregious console exclusive bonuses with Black Ops Cold War.
While the battle royale experience is currently superior on the Xbox Series X, the game is still largely the same on every platform and below you’ll discover what the Radiation Counter device is, plus how to get the Detection contract and RC-XD killstreak.
How to get Detection contract and RC-XD killstreak in Warzone
Players have been able to get a Detection contract and RC-XD killstreak in Warzone during training mode.
After picking up the Detection contract in training mode for Warzone, players receive a Radiation Counter which leads towards getting the RC-XD killstreak from a Radioactive Cache.
This remote controlled explosive device comes from the cache and – when used – it explodes and emits a cloud of radioactive gas.
The Detection Contract and RC-XD killstreak were not part of the version 1.29 patch notes, nor was the Radiation Counter players have been finding on its own.
What is the Radiation Counter device in Warzone?
The Radiation Counter is an unusable device some Warzone players have found in training mode.
In addition, the Radiation Counter has also been found by some Warzone players in mini-royale bouts, but the device still remains impossible to pick up.
This has resulted in some people questioning the purpose of the device, and many have assumed that it’s a tease for Black Ops Cold War x Warzone Season One.
Season One will begin on December 10th with a ‘classified experience’ teased by Activision, so it’s possible that the unusable Radiation Counter device pertains to this mystery event.
