A lot is written about the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, but you could argue that Tottenham Hotspur’s most consistent player under Jose Mourinho has been the goalkeeper.

Hugo Lloris was injured when Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs boss last November.

But the France international returned in January and really, he hasn’t put a foot wrong.

Lloris was definitely one of the Tottenham players whose form could be described as unsteady in the final year or 18 months under Pochettino.

In fact, the defeat by Brighton last season, where he suffered the injury, was particularly horrific for the former Lyon star who had an absolute shocker, culminating in the 3-0 scoreline.

But the 33-year-old – a £12 million signing in 2012 – has had a stellar calendar year and he proved it again last night.

Lloris captained his country to a narrow 1-0 win away to Portugal.

It could and probably would’ve been a draw if not for the keeper, who pulled off an outstanding save on 75 minutes to tip away Joao Moutinho’s long-range drive.

Lloris had several other bright moments in the game and here’s how Tottenham fans reacted to his performance:
