Liverpool’s injury crisis is getting a little out of hand now, a little ridiculous, a little unbelievable.
In fact, it’s entirely possible that Jurgen Klopp won’t have a single member of his first-choice back four available for the visit of Leicester City next Sunday.
Trent Alexander-Arnold joined Virgil van Dijk on the sidelines with a suspected calf injury after Liverpool’s draw at Manchester City last week, resulting in him withdrawing from the England squad.
While training for the Three Lions, Joe Gomez picked up a serious knee injury and the Premier League champions have since confirmed that he has undergone surgery, putting him out of commission for the foreseeable future.
And now Andy Robertson is injured with a suspected hamstring problem after being left out of the Scotland squad today.
Bear in mind that Leicester are top of the Premier League, meaning that even with a fully-fit back four Klopp’s side could struggle in this one.
Van Dijk and Gomez are definitely ruled out of that one – the former won’t play again this season, in fact – and it remains to be seen if Alexander-Arnold and Robertson are available.
But at the moment, it isn’t looking good and here’s how Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to the Scot’s latest injury:
