According to Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is reluctant to bring Christian Eriksen back to the club in January.

It’s claimed that Mourinho isn’t keen on signing Eriksen, sharing Antonio Conte’s idea that he isn’t cut out for his style of football.

There are two other reasons a deal is unlikely, with Tottenham allegedly unhappy that Eriksen wanted to run down his contract with the club and leave for free.

That sounds like something Daniel Levy would struggle to forgive, and that sour taste may mean that Spurs don’t pursue re-signing Eriksen.

Additionally, Inter are claimed to be ‘annoyed’ with Spurs over their tactics in trying to sign Milan Skriniar over the summer, offering just over half of the asking price.

With all of that combined, it seems unlikely that Eriksen will make his way back to North London in January, even if Inter want rid.

The Dane hasn’t impressed for Conte since joining from Spurs in January 2020, and with Dele Alli’s future unclear, a return to Tottenham has been suggested.

Ultimately though, the 28-year-old wanted to leave Spurs after more than six years at the club, and a reunion just doesn’t make sense right now, with Mourinho seemingly agreeing with that sentiment.
