Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has suggested that signing Christian Eriksen back would be a mistake, as he wouldn’t get into Jose Mourinho’s side.
There have been tentative rumours in Calcio Mercato that Tottenham could look to bring Eriksen back from Inter Milan in January, as the Dane has struggled since leaving.
But Roberts does not appear to feel that snapping up the Danish international would be a good option for Spurs.
Whether Eriksen would get back into Tottenham’s team right now is very much up for debate.
While Spurs have looked a real force up-front, it is fair to say that nobody has really stepped up and made a slot for themselves in the number 10 role.
Tanguy Ndombele has been much improved this term, but he seems to be more suited to a slightly deeper role, while Giovani Lo Celso is yet to get back to full fitness.
If Eriksen came back to Spurs and could rekindle his top form, then he may just have a chance of breaking back into Mourinho’s side.
However, it is now a long time since Eriksen showed the best of his abilities, and he would return to Tottenham with a big point to prove, if he was to make the move.
