Who was Dykebrax?
Dykebrax, aka Braxton Blue Baker, aka BraxAttacks, was a 21-year-old Virginia-native popular rapper and artist who first made her name on the music media site SoundCloud. Reports of her death first surfaced on 5 November.
Brax first gained popularity after releasing tracks “Lil’ B****”, “Mmmo’mentum (Freestyle)” and “Dropped”. She previously collaborated with fellow rapper Lil Peep, who also released his early work through the SoundCloud platform.
Among Brax’s various talents, she was pursuing a career in dance choreography. She was “in the process of forming her brand merging her loves for fashion, and the work of Black queer revolutionary womxn”.

In a humble and comprehensive interview with Chioma Nwana of Svage magazine, titled Getting to Know BRAX, Brax said:
“My role is to create art straight from my heart. For I know that art will be pure, poetic, powerful, and healing. […] All I want to do is help the world heal. That’s when things will begin to shift.”

How did Dykebrax die?
The circumstances surrounding Braxton Baker’s cause of death are still fairly unknown. Her mother, Letricia Loftin Russell, first shared the news to Brax’s fan base, in an Instagram post.
In the post, she wrote: “At the time of her ascendance she laid in sacred form. There were no scratches there were no bruises, her internal and external being was completely pure. It was a spiritual release. God retrieved the angel He loaned us.”
Dykebrax’s death came as a shock. As a result, internet users have flooded social media platforms with kind words. Twitter is aflame with tributes and heartfelt messages consoling the Baker family.
