If you’re in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia or New Zealand or South Korea, you’re in luck because the new PlayStation will be released on November 12th. However, if you’re in the UK or the rest of the world, you’ll have to wait a little longer, until November 19th.

What is the PS5 Instagram Filter?
The latest filter that everyone is obsessed with is called the PS5 filter, and it’s one of Instagram’s popular AR filters.
When applied, it brings up a virtual PlayStation 5 box into your camera view, making it look as if you have bought the new console and it is placed in front of you.
If you get the position exactly right, and have a few gullible friends, it can easily be believable. It’s a great way to play a hilarious prank, and make your friends really jealous.
How to use the PS5 Filter on Instagram
- Open Instagram and click on ‘Your Story’ at the top of the homepage.
- Scroll through all the filter icons at the bottom to the last one, a picture of a magnifying glass.
- Press this and then click on another magnifying glass in the top right hand corner to bring up the search bar.
- Search ‘PS5 box’.
- Find the filter called ‘PS5 BOX’ by aroneverything.
- Click on the filter and press ‘Try It’.
- Now point your camera and tap on the screen to bring up the PS5. Then, take your photo and send it to your friends!

Many people have been taking to Twitter to react to the popular Instagram filter, and it’s safe to say a lot of people have been pranked by it.
One Twitter user said: “So almost half of the squad have PS5 in their stories. So I messaged the GC ‘y’all bought one and didn’t tell me?’ they all laughing at me until I saw someone posted that’s a goddamn IG filter.”
“Really thought everyone collectively got PS5 until I got to know it’s a filter for broke ass people like us,” said another.
