Noel Whelan criticised Leeds United central defender Robin Koch on BBC Radio Leeds (10:12pm, November 2, 2020).

The former Leeds striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Radio Leeds, believes that the Germany international centre-back should have done better for Leicester’s opening goal.

Harvey Barnes opened the scoring for the Foxes in their Premier League game against Leeds at Elland Road on Monday evening after just two minutes.

English striker Jamie Vardy was the architect of the goal, as he teed up Barnes after a mistake from Koch.

Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds (10:12pm, November 2, 2020): “Terrible first goal to give away. That’s a schoolboy error, that, and he is an international.

“Not having a look over your shoulder when you are playing the ball back to see where Jamie Vardy is. I mean, come on, he preys on that.”

How did Robin Koch play against Leicester City?

Koch, who joined Leeds from Freiburg in the summer transfer window, did not have a good game on a personal level.

The 24-year-old Germany international centre-back should have done better for Leicester’s opening goal, and he probably could have been done better for two other goals as well.

According to WhoScored, Koch took one shot which was not on target, had a pass accuracy of 88.4%, won five headers, took 99 touches, and made two tackles, one interception and three clearances.

So far this season, Koch has played seven Premier League matches for Leeds, according to WhoScored.
