Jamie Redknapp raved about Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey on Sky Sports Premier League (6:38pm, November 1, 2020) following his performance against Manchester United.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Partey is a complete midfielder.

Mikel Arteta’s side got the better of United 1-0 away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s penalty in the second half proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Redknapp said about Partey on Sky Sports Premier League (6:38pm, November 1, 2020): “When I look at Thomas Partey, he is almost a throwback to what I think as a midfield player.

“I don’t look at him as a number 6, a number 8, a defensive midfield player, a forward midfield player. I just think of him as a really good midfield player that could do everything.”

The Sky Sports pundit added: “He did everything for a midfield player that I want to see from a midfield player.”

How did Thomas Partey play against Manchester United?

Partey was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park and was arguably the best player on the pitch at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

The Ghana international drove the Gunners forward, stamped his authority on the game, and protected the defence superbly.

According to WhoScored, Partey took one shot which was on target, had a pass accuracy of 93%, won one header, took 79 touches, attempted three dribbles, and made four tackles, two interceptions and one clearance.

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window and has hit the ground running at the Gunners.
