Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Patrick Bamford’s confidence has increased following his hat-trick against Aston Villa last week.

The former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest striker scored all three goals in Leeds’s 3-0 win against Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League.

Bielsa has said that the 27-year-old has trained as normal, and has added that the Englishman is high in confidence now.

The Leeds boss told Leeds Live about Bamford: “He’s had a normal week, but it’s true when a striker scores goals his confidence increases.”

Patrick Bamford Stats

According to WhoScored, Bamford has scored six goals and provided one assist in six Premier League games for Leeds so far this season.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the Englishman scored 16 goals and gave two assists in the Championship for the Whites, according to WhoScored.

Important player for Leeds United

Bamford has been superb for Leeds in the Premier League and is showing why Bielsa trusts him to lead the line.

The 27-year-old works hard for the team, links up well with the other attacking players, and is the first line of pressing the opposition.

With Bamford in red-hot form at the moment, Leeds will be confident of picking up all three points from their Premier League game against Leicester City at Elland Road on Monday evening.
