Arsenal’s first team are in action today, as they travel up to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in the Premier League.
The Gunners may have some homegrown players in action in that game, with Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock and Bukayo Saka all in contention.
The trio give real inspiration to Arsenal youngsters further down the ranks, as others could follow them into Mikel Arteta’s first-team setup in the future.
On Friday night, Arsenal’s Under-23’s were in Premier League 2 actions against Liverpool, with William Saliba starting and fellow summer signing Joel Ideho in the squad.
Steve Bould handed out some debuts too, with Hubert Graczyk, Kido Taylor-Hart and Brooke Norton-Cuffy all in Premier League 2 action for the first time.
Norton-Cuffy received congratulations from Arsenal on Twitter, with the 16-year-old taking a huge step forward in his development with this appearance.
The right back is an England Under-16 international, and being given a chance at such a young age just goes to show what Arsenal think of him.
Norton-Cuffy won’t have it easy if he wants first-team action in the future; Arsenal are well-stocked at right back, with Hector Bellerin, Cedric Soares and Ainsley Maitland-Niles all in contention and Jordi Osei-Tutu on loan at Cardiff.
Yet with continued Premier League 2 action, Norton-Cuffy could develop into a real talent for Arsenal, with Friday’s inclusion an exciting step for the teenager.
