Liverpool midfielder Fabinho could miss their next three matches after picking up an injury, the Daily Mirror suggest.
Fabinho pulled up with a hamstring issue in Liverpool’s last game against Midtjylland in the Champions League, and there were real fears that he could be out for a lengthy period of time.
However, after assessment on the problem, Liverpool hope that Fabinho will be back by mid-November.
While that is still a huge blow, with Liverpool’s centre-back options looking extremely limited, it could have been a lot worse.
There were concerns that Jurgen Klopp’s side could be without the Brazilian for months, so to lose him for just a matter of weeks should be considered a boost.
But Liverpool will still likely to have to struggle through three difficult games in his absence.
Fabinho had been covering at centre-back since Virgil van Dijk’s injury, and had performed well in the role.
Without him they are really down to the bare bones though, with youngsters likely to have to be called upon, as Joel Matip is also struggling.
Rhys Williams came on in Liverpool’s Champions League tie in midweek, and Nathaniel Phillips could also receive some game time in the near future.
Liverpool’s next game comes against West Ham United, before they take on Atalanta and then Manchester City.
