Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching Dayot Upamecano’s display against Manchester United in the Champions League last night.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Anfield, with Sunday World reporting that RB Leipzig are expecting a bid from the Premier League champions.

However, some supporters seem to have now been put off by Upamecano, after he was part of a backline who shipped five goals to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side last night.

In that respect, the 22-year-old won’t have left Old Trafford with a smile on his face, although his performance from an individual aspect wasn’t too bad.

RB Leipzig’s No.5 completed five successful tackles, and made 68 passes against the Red Devils while also completing 13 successful long-range passes, according to SofaScore.

Upamecano had 92 touches of the ball, and won eight ground duels from his nine attempted tussles.

One thing that the young centre-back is very good at is dribbling up the field in similar style to Joel Matip, and that was also on display at Old Trafford as he completed both of his attempted dribbles.

As aforesaid, some supporters below have now been put off after his part in RB Leipzig’s 5-0 defeat.

However, some other fans have been more level-headed, and made sensible comparisons to Virgil van Dijk and Alisson.

Jurgen Klopp’s side put six past a Southampton side which included Van Dijk back in December 2015, and he turned out to be a success at Anfield despite that thrashing.

Alisson was also on the receiving end of a 5-2 defeat at Anfield while in goal for Roma, and he too has been a successful addition to Klopp’s ranks.
