It looks like Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta might be bringing Willian back into the squad tonight.
Arteta’s side are gearing up for a visit of Dundalk in the Europa League.
Willian, who signed a £220,000-a-week deal with Arsenal as a free agent this past summer, has missed the Gunners’ last two games with a thigh injury.
But the Spaniard has hinted that he’s going to be included in the squad later on.
He told the club’s official website: “Willian has been training with us for two days and tomorrow he might be involved in the game at some stage.”
Willian’s last venture with Arsenal didn’t go so well.
Arteta played the Brazilian winger as a false nine in the defeat by Manchester City a couple of weeks ago.
And if Willian does play tonight, it’s important that the Arsenal boss uses him correctly.
It’s abundantly clear that although the 32-year-old is a hard worker, he isn’t a central player in the slightest and he is best suited to a wide role.
Arsenal have only scored four times in their last six matches across all competitions, so this isn’t the time for Arteta to be experimenting with his attacking players.
