West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to demand that Slaven Bilic moves Matheus Pereira into a more central position from now on.

So far this season, the former West Ham boss has been playing the Brazilian attacker out wide. Transfermarkt shows that the 24-year-old has been deployed on the right on four occasions, and once out on the left.

Only once has Bilic played Pereira centrally, but after Monday’s 1-1 draw against Brighton, that is where some Baggies supporters think he should be playing.

The former Sporting Lisbon man – who West Brom signed for £9 million in the summer – played through the middle in the second-half at the Amex, and to good effect.

According to WhoScored, no player on the pitch had more shots than Pereira’s three, with one hitting the post.

WhoScored also shows that the Brazilian trickster was fouled on five occasions, which was also more than any other player on the pitch.

Defensively, he also got involved with two interceptions to his name, and his presence through the middle helped West Brom snatch a late equaliser through Karlan Grant.

Pereira definitely looked more effective in the centre, a fact that didn’t go unnoticed among the West Brom supporters on Twitter.
