Richard Keys has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to a controverial decision that went against West Ham United in their Premier League game against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
The well-known sports presenter, formerly of Sky Sports, was not happy that Michail Antonio was denied a penalty in the first half.
The former Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest winger was through on goal, but Eric Garcia made a tackle.
Keys, who now works as a presenter for beIN SPORTS, believes that the Hammers should have been awarded a penalty.
Good result for West Ham United
That incident did not seem to affect West Ham in the end, as the Hammers played out a 1-1 draw with City at the London Stadium, although it would have given them a 2-0 lead had they been able to convert the penalty if it was given.
Antonio had put David Moyes’s side in the lead after 18 minutes with a spectacular acrobatic overhead volley, and Phil Foden restored parity for Pep Guardiola’s side in the opening minutes of the second half
Over the course of the 90 minutes, West Ham had 30% of the possession, took six shots of which two were on target, and earned two corners, according to BBC Sport.
