Stephen Warnock told beIN SPORTS 11 (23/10/20 at 22:10 pm) that Leeds United winger Jack Harrison caused Matty Cash ‘all kinds of problems’ on Friday night.
Leeds secured a quite impressive 3-0 win against Aston Villa and ended their 100% start to the campaign in a ruthless fashion.
Both teams went into the break goalless, with fans enjoying a watchable and even battle between Harrison and Cash on the flanks. But that soon changed.
Former Villa and Leeds man Warnock thinks that Cash was ‘absolutely shattered’ towards the end of the game because of how tough his contest with Harrison turned out to be.
“The way he [Harrison] has progressed his game, he has been superb,” Warnock told beIN SPORTS. “A phenomenal performance from him.
“He [Matty Cash] is absolutely shattered. He has been left in 1 v 1 and 2 v 1 situations all night. Not being helped out.
“Jack Harrison, what a performance he has put in tonight. He has caused Matty Cash all kinds of problems.”
In the first half, Cash didn’t do much wrong, he was aggressive and was strong in his tackle, whether he was pressing up the pitch or defending deep.
But during the second period, the 100 miles per hour machine that is Leeds caused him and his teammates all kinds of problems with their non-stop pressing.
Whilst Cash didn’t do much wrong because he was outnumbered by Leeds player after Leeds player on the flank, it was a learning curve for Villa’s summer signing, who had previously started the season in a strong fashion.
