Noel Whelan praised Leeds United central defender Robin Koch on BBC Radio Leeds (10:13pm, October 19, 2020) for his performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday evening.
The former Leeds striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Radio Leeds, was impressed with the display produced by the Germany international centre-back.
The Whites lost the Premier League game at Elland Road 1-0, but Whelan believes that the 24-year-old gave a flawless performance.
Whelan said about Koch on BBC Radio Leeds (10:13pm, October 19, 2020): “There was nothing about his game tonight that I did not like. He looked a lot better on the ball.
“He has got that crossfield pass in his locker as well now, which we saw more of this evening, which you need to when you are playing against five at the back. They like to get their wing-backs nice and high.”

How did Robin Koch play for Leeds United?
Koch joined Leeds from Freiburg in the summer transfer window and has established himself as an important player in head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s team.
Against Wolves on Monday evening, the 24-year-old was strong at the back, made some timely interventions, and spread the ball well.
The Germany international was assertive in his display and looked to be a leader defensively.
According to WhoScored, Koch had a pass accuracy of 93%, won three headers, took 83 touches, attempted one dribble, and made two tackles, five interceptions and two clearances.
So far this season, the defender has played five times in the Premier League for Leeds, according to WhoScored.
