Brendan Rodgers has spoken in awe of the ‘very, very talented’ and ‘marvellous’ Jack Grealish ahead of Leicester City’s clash against Aston Villa tonight, as posted by Beanyman Sports.

It has been some start to the season for Grealish, who was involved in five goals for Aston Villa as they put an incredible seven past the champions of England before the international break.

Rodgers shared his thoughts on Grealish as a player and how he has an ‘in-built football brain’.

“Players like Jack and James [Maddison] here will always present a problem,” said Rodgers. “With regards to England, they have so many good players. You play Jack on the left, you are then leaving out Raheem Sterling, whose a world-class player for me.

“I think England are very fortunate to have his talents. I have seen improvements in him as he has grown as a young player. His personality on the field is absolutely fantastic. He’s got a real in-built brain for football when I see him when he carries the ball. His awareness of his space really shows me the talent that he has.

“He understands where his space is. He gets tackled a lot. He stays on the ball a bit longer than other people. He draws fouls but he also draws other people out of position. And his weight of pass is exceptional. Just his touch on the ball.

“He’s a marvellous player but he’s like a number of players that are with England that are very talented – A very, very talented player.”

Grealish was handed his first start for his country over the international break and the Solihull-born playmaker didn’t disappoint because he delivered a Man of the Match display against Wales.

But then Gareth Southgate made the odd decision to leave him as an unused substitute for England’s next two matches, which sparked an outcry as to why he wasn’t selected again.

Even though Grealish has been producing the goods week in and week out against the best of the best, it seems as though Southgate is seeing something different from others.

But this is an advantage for Villa because it means their star man is fresh for tonight’s clash and they will be hoping he can maintain their 100% to the season.
