Aston Villa-linked Milot Rashica has already agreed a five-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen and should see his move finally complete when the transfer window opens again in January, according to Sport BILD.
The Kosovo international has had to wait a bit longer than he might have expected to force a move away from perennial strugglers Werder Bremen.
And with the European window slamming shut on 5 October, Rashica has another ten weeks in green and white remaining.
Leverkusen have little choice but to wait until the new year to get their number-one transfer target through the door.
With just two goals scored in three Bundesliga games this season, a Leverkusen side shorn of Kai Havertz and Kevin Volland will be counting down the days until the clock hits midnight on 1 January.
BILD reports a five-year contract has already been agreed, although Rashica was left in limbo last week after Leverkusen and Werder Bremen failed to come to an agreement in time regarding how the deal would be structured.
A compromise couldn’t be reached, although the transfer will be little more than a formality come January.

Any lingering hope Aston Villa had of reigniting their interest in Rashica in 2021 appear to have gone up in smoke.
The jet-heeled winger with a rocket shot has always prioritised staying in Germany and, furthermore, his £75,000-a-week contract demands proved a little rich for Villa, who triggered his £20.5 million release clause to no avail in October (Birmingham Mail).
