According to the Watford Observer, Crystal Palace retain an interest in signing Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr before Friday’s 5pm deadline.
The report states that the Eagles made contact with the forward’s representatives as early as August, while they also tried to sign the Senegal international before he moved to Vicarage Road.
The Watford Observer also reveal that Watford will remain firm on their valuation, but while they hope Sarr will stay, his future is by no means assured with a big deadline day offer still possible.
If Palace did manage to bring the ex-Rennes star to Selhurst Park, they’d be getting some player.
The 22-year-old famously downed Liverpool in Watford’s 3-0 win over the Premier League champions last term, a match in which Sarr netted twice and assisted the other goal, scored by Troy Deeney.
Roy Hodgson has already signed Eberechi Eze, Michy Batshuayi, Nathan Ferguson and Nathaniel Clyne in recent months.
However, bringing Sarr to south London would arguably be the biggest coup of them all.
An attack of Wilfried Zaha, Eze, Sarr and Batshuayi is simply a mouthwatering prospect, and one the Selhurst Park faithful would presumably love to see.
