Kenneth Zohore’s move from West Bromwich Albion to Sheffield Wednesday is off with only a day left in the transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
If the Dane isn’t careful, he could find himself stuck on the sidelines at the Hawthorns with no means of escape until the new year.
Johore hasn’t played a single second of Premier League football since the Baggies were promoted back to the big time. In fact, he’s not even been included in any of Slaven Bilic’s matchday squads.
And with Karlan Grant finally closing in on a long-awaited £15 million move from Huddersfield Town, Zohore is about to slip even further down the pecking order.
He’s already behind Hal Robson-Kanu, Callum Robinson and potentially Charlie Austin too.
But, according to The Mail, any hopes Zohore had of joining Garry ‘the Striker Whisperer’ Monk at Sheffield Wednesday have gone up in smoke.
The deal is off it seems, although the report doesn’t explain why.
Zohore was keen on a move to Hillsborough too.
The Sun (28 September, page 61) reported Wednesday were also willing to pay half of the £8 million misfit’s £50,000-a-week wages.
There are other options at least.
Striker-seeking Derby County have also been linked to Zohore, while a reunion with his former Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock at Middlesbrough would certainly appeal to both parties (TEAMtalk).
