Who is Karen Pence’s first husband?

Karen’s first husband is called Dr. John Steven Whitaker. Karen was 21 years old when she married her high school sweetheart.

The couple got married in 1978 but divorced not long after that.

Karen and John’s sudden divorce was reportedly a result of their young marriage and John’s busy schedule as a medical student, The Washington Post has reported previously.

Speaking to the publication, Dr. Whitaker said:

“We were kids. We probably didn’t necessarily know what we were doing.”
